The APN is present in the hospital setting throughout the West Kootenay and Boundary area to advocate and support a holistic healing journey for Aboriginal people. The APN supports navigating the health care system and looks to connect the individual with resources and supports for a seamless transition home. While supporting Aboriginal people in hospital, the APN is also able to work with health care staff to provide cultural safety education to further support clients on healing journeys. Cultural connections for accessing Elders and cultural ceremonies is facilitated by the APN while in the health care setting.
