Orange Shirt Day 2025: Walking in Honour, Gathering in Community

Orange Shirt Day is a time to reflect on the lasting impact of residential schools in Canada and to honour the strength, courage, and resilience of Indigenous children, families, and communities. It is also a day to come together in the spirit of learning, healing, and reconciliation.

This year, COINS invites the community to join us on Tuesday, September 30th in recognizing this important day. We will begin with a walk to honour our children and families, starting at 10:30 am at the Sandman Hotel and concluding at the COINS office. Following the walk, a community gathering will take place at the COINS office (1801 Connors Road, Castlegar) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
