COINS Celebrates 10 Years

In September of this year, COINS will celebrate its 10th anniversary.  A celebration is planned for Friday, September 22nd from 12pm to 2pm at the COINS offices in Castlegar.

“This is a real milestone for us.”  Says Executive Director Kris Salikin.  “It is an honour to continue to provide programs, services and cultural connections for Indigenous peoples.”  The society, which now has 26 staff members, and offices in both Castlegar and Grand Forks has grown significantly in the last 3 years.  “When we started COINS, we were working remotely and without an office.  We started with one contract.  We are now in a very fortunate position to offer over 10 different programs for Indigenous individuals and families in both the social and health sectors, as well as an Aboriginal Head Start child care centre, which opened in 2020.

The Elders council (Board of Directors) invites supporters to come and celebrate this milestone with an open event later this Fall.
